The position will be an initial three-year appointment including a one-year probationary period, with the potential for continued reappointment for additional 1-5 year terms. This position is subject to Air University's tenure and promotion policy, this position is tenure-track eligible.

Teaching: leading graduate-level seminars of 12-16 students at a 2/2 equivalent load
- Teaching the Department of Strategy's core curriculum, the Foundations of Strategy and the Contemporary Strategy course
- Teaching electives in the applicant's areas of specialization and/or teaching in
- AWC's Regional Security Studies course
- Developing curriculum and advising student research
- Facilitating experiential learning (war games, strategy exercises, etc.) throughout academic year
- Publishing book manuscripts, articles, monographs, and book reviews in scholarly journals, professional journals, and other outlets
- Presenting results of research at conferences and symposia
- Participating with other professional military education schools, professional organizations, AF/DoD institutions, universities, and colleges for professional development
- Delivering lectures, conducting seminars, participating in panel discussions related to AWC curriculum
- Maintaining academic currency by consistently reviewing professional literature and participating in professional associations

- Teaching experience (preferably at the graduate level) commensurate with professorial rank sought and/or extensive professional experience and a suitable publication record are required.
- Broad knowledge of the interdisciplinary subject matter (military/diplomatic history, international relations, leadership, airpower, planning) that comprises the AWC strategic studies curriculum is highly desired.
- Knowledge of scholarly research methods and ability to conduct inquiry and publish in leading academic venues is required.
- Candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences
