As a Mechanical Technician Temp in the MEDL group at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., you will assist with the assembly, installation, and modification of laboratory and experimental equipment related to remotely piloted aircraft and advanced surveillance systems. In addition to hands-on work, you will support mechanical design tasks such as creating and updating CAD models, preparing engineering drawings, and assisting with basic design calculations under the guidance of experienced engineers. You will help set up and operate lab apparatus, conduct routine tests, collect and record experimental data, and perform basic maintenance such as cleaning, adjusting, and replacing parts. This role emphasizes safe work practices, maintaining an organized workspace, and following established procedures, providing hands-on experience in a high-tech environment that values diverse backgrounds and teamwork.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assembles and installs simple laboratory equipment, experimental or commercial apparatus.
- May operates lab and experimental equipment and collects data.
- Cleans, adjusts and replaces parts on lab and experimental equipment.
- May set up and check out routine experiments and tests according to pre-arranged procedures, records experimental data.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Help maintain work area in an orderly condition by returning tools, equipment and materials to storage areas.
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to work with common hand tools.
- Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate a good working knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials.
- Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
