Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Mid-Senior Level - Database Engineer (DBE)/Database Administrator (DBA) to support KTS and our government customer. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is remote. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and performance of critical database systems for multiple government applications. The role requires a deep understanding of DB architecture, best practices in database development, and experience with highly integrated environments at an enterprise level. The candidate will collaborate extensively within a team of 4-5 other DBA/DBEs. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with cross functional areas to deliver data solutions with data integrity and optimal performance. The position is ideal for a motivated mid to senior level professional with experience leading database related projects in complex database environments.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in design of database systems that meet best practices and client requirements
- Develop and maintain database systems ensuring scalability and performance of applications built on these databases
- Identify database inefficiencies to optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and Index configuration optimization skills.
- Effectively collaborate with DevOps resources, application developers, sys admins, QA testers, and other stakeholders when tracing, troubleshooting, debugging, or delivering database related changes
- Utilize source control tools and technologies for managing database projects, and promoting database changes (Visual Studio, Bitbucket, and TFS)
- Assist with the generation, creation, or updates to database documentations
- Perform DBA tasks including managing backups, restores, and scheduled jobs in lower environments to support development and testing efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Self-motivated, detailed oriented, with great written and verbal communication.
- This is the standard line you see everywhere but its true, its kind of required for success.
- Proficiency with Excel, Visio, SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and TSQL development
- Strong expertise in database development, data analysis, data engineering, and data architecture
- Experience working in an Agile environment with Agile development teams
- 5+ years' experience as a DBA/DBE with focus on developing and optimizing large integrated db systems
- 5+ Experience working with enterprise scaled SQL DB implementations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI)
- Data architecture and data modeling experience
- Experience leveraging AWS cloud services (i.e. S3, RDS, Lamda) for data engineer processes
