Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Security Compliance Service Team Lead (STL) to support KTS and our government customer. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is remote. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

The Security & Compliance Service Team Lead (STL) provides dedicated leadership for cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management activities supporting USDA NRCS/FPAC mission systems. This role is responsible for ensuring application teams meet federal security requirements while enabling secure operations, modernization, and automation across a largely O&M-focused portfolio.

Security & Compliance STL manages cross-functional coordination across development, DevSecOps, cloud, and government stakeholders to implement and sustain security controls aligned with federal frameworks. The STL is expected to rapidly achieve full operational proficiency and maintain accountability for security outcomes across multiple applications and teams.

Responsibilities of Security & Compliance STL:
The Security & Compliance STL will:
  • Provide functional leadership for Security & Compliance activities critical to contract success
  • Ensure adherence to federal cybersecurity frameworks including FISMA, NIST 800-53, and NIST RMF
  • Lead implementation of Zero Trust-aligned security principles across systems and environments
  • Support ATO sustainment, continuous monitoring, and audit readiness activities
  • Develop and execute security improvement plans and vulnerability remediation efforts
  • Integrate security enforcement into CI/CD workflows, including automated scanning and policy controls
  • Utilize tools such as SonarQube and related platforms for secure code quality and vulnerability management
  • Partner with AWS GovCloud teams to ensure secure cloud implementations and controls
  • Guide teams in mitigating risk, managing dependencies, and maintaining accountability for compliance outcomes
  • Coordinate across multi-vendor delivery teams supporting production operational environments

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five (5) or more years of leadership experience in security and compliance functional areas
  • Three (3) or more years supporting federal IT programs of comparable size and complexity
  • Proven experience implementing security best practices and delivering successful outcomes
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CISM, or equivalent)
  • USDA NRCS or similar federal agency experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to guide teams and mitigate risks effectively
  • Skills of the Security & Compliance STL

Desirable skills include:
  • Expertise in federal cybersecurity governance, vulnerability remediation, and compliance sustainment
  • Experience securing AWS GovCloud environments and cloud-native architectures
  • Strong cross-functional coordination and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • Ability to obtain a public trust
