Job Description

As a Security Officer - Roving Unarmed Patrol in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an aero and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, communicate clearly with personnel and visitors, and document activity using computer and/or tablet tools. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and emergency services as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, work areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor access points and controlled areas, checking credentials and/or visitor authorization in accordance with site-specific policies and post orders.
• Complete required reports and logs for patrol activities, incidents, and unusual observations, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
