Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services company, is looking for an Azure Senior Solutions Architect to join our team of IT experts at the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). As a member of our advanced engineering team, this role will provide expert knowledge to teams of experienced engineers across the enterprise; drive the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and cutting-edge AI technologies within the federal government space. This role will serve as a trusted technical advisor to federal clients, driving digital transformation through innovative cloud and AI strategies while ensuring compliance with government security and regulatory requirements, and shape the future of intelligent automation and data-driven decision-making within a complex federal agency environment. This "hands on" role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a strategic mindset to deliver transformative applications and automation solutions that enhance the agency's operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Architecture & Strategy
    • Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient solutions on Microsoft Azure tailored to federal agency missions and requirements
    • Develop enterprise cloud architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, and migration strategies for federal clients
    • Lead cloud modernization initiatives including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployments
    • Ensure all solutions comply with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, Zero Trust Architecture, and other applicable federal security frameworks
  • Microsoft 365 & Modern Workplace
    • Architect and deploy comprehensive Microsoft 365 solutions including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Microsoft Purview across federal environments
    • Design identity and access management strategies leveraging Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), conditional access policies, and multi-factor authentication
    • Develop governance frameworks for M365 tenant management, data loss prevention (DLP), information protection, and compliance in regulated federal environments
    • Drive adoption of modern workplace and collaboration solutions aligned with federal workforce modernization goals
  • AI & Copilot Integration
    • Lead the strategic integration of Microsoft 365 Copilot across federal organizations, including readiness assessments, data governance preparation, deployment planning, and user adoption strategies
    • Design and develop custom AI-powered applications using Microsoft Copilot Studio, including intelligent chatbots, virtual agents, and automated workflows for federal use cases
    • Build AI-driven solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents integrated with Copilot capabilities to streamline federal business processes
    • Architect solutions leveraging Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Services, and Azure Machine Learning to deliver mission-critical AI applications
    • Develop responsible AI frameworks ensuring federal AI deployments align with Executive Orders on AI, OMB guidance, and agency-specific AI governance policies
  • Technical Leadership & Delivery
    • Serve as the senior technical authority on complex federal financial agency engagement, providing input, architectural guidance, and oversight throughout the multi-year project lifecycle
    • Lead /participate in technical discovery sessions, workshops, and proof-of-concept demonstrations with federal stakeholders and C-suite executives
    • Coordinate with project leads, architects, engineers, and developers on best practices for Azure, M365, and AI solution delivery
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including cybersecurity, DevSecOps, data analytics, engineering, and program management to deliver integrated solutions
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and maintain trusted relationships with federal agency leadership, program managers, and technical teams
    • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Stay current on Microsoft product roadmaps, federal IT policy changes, and emerging AI/ML trends to proactively advise clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT solutions architecture, with a minimum of 5 years focused on Microsoft Azure and M365 platforms
  • 5+ years of direct experience supporting U.S. federal government clients (civilian or DoD)
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying Azure infrastructure including networking, computer, storage, security, and governance at enterprise scale
  • Proven experience with Microsoft 365 administration, governance, and security in regulated environments
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot (M365 Copilot and/or Copilot Studio) integration and deployment
  • Strong proficiency in Power Platform development (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Studio)
  • Working knowledge of Azure AI services including Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, Bot Framework, and AI Builder
  • Deep understanding of federal compliance frameworks: FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, CMMC, IL2-IL6, and Zero Trust Architecture principles
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust/NACI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certifications (one or more strongly preferred):
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Defender suite
  • Experience with GCC, GCC-High, or DoD Azure/M365 environments
  • Knowledge of SAFe Agile or ITIL frameworks in federal delivery contexts
  • Prior experience in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Understanding of Section 508 accessibility requirements for federal applications
  • Experience with federal Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
