Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a Data Analyst to join a high-performing, agile team of engineers, software developers, analysts, and innovators. As a fast-growing AI/ML company, we build decision-support solutions that transform complex, high-volume data into clear insights and confident action. In this role, you'll help deliver immersive analytics experience, enabling users to explore scenarios, connect disparate datasets, and uncover patterns that drive mission outcomes.
Because this position involves sensitive systems and requires close, in-person collaboration, it is based on-site in Norfolk, Virginia.
What you will do
You'll support the end-to-end data lifecycle, including:
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and operational partners to collect, organize, and interpret data
• Structure and manage large, complex datasets to produce actionable insights
• Develop visuals (dashboards, charts, infographics, and summaries) that communicate a clear data story
• Create polished reports and briefings for internal teams and external stakeholders
• Work alongside analysts to process, validate, reconcile, and resolve data discrepancies
• Evaluate data quality and recommend improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure data handling complies with security, governance, and compliance requirements
• Provide data administration support, operational tasks, Tier 1/Tier 2 support, and internal customer assistance
What you need to have
• Active Secret security clearance (must be able to maintain)
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics and/or relational databases
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Proficiency with MS Access and Microsoft Excel

• Experience in regulated, security-conscious, or large-scale enterprise environments
• Exposure to readiness, planning, resource management, or operational decision-support domains
• Strong quantitative skills and confidence working with numerical data
• Experience with SQL-based databases, cloud data platforms, and/or scripting languages
• Knowledge of best practices for managing large or complex datasets
• Ability to analyze, model, and interpret data to support decision-making
• Structured, methodical problem-solving approach and strong attention to detail
• Comfort operating in dynamic environments with shifting priorities and deadlines
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
