I2X Technologies is seeking a Site Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret clearance.

I2X Technologies is seeking a Site Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret clearance.
- This is a team deputy/admin position on the Site Engineering Team that requires technical expertise (i.e. hardware/system design, drafting of technical drawings) in addition to supporting the team lead in management of the admin tasks for the team, supporting multiple projects in parallel and managing pop-up tasks that occur.
- Responsibilities include:
- analysis of hardware characteristics and comparison against design requirements
- developing plans for rack integration and creating the design
- preparation/drafting and review of rack level technical drawings and larger site-wide technical drawings and plans
- review of the content and details of technical products
- completing required documentation and drawings in accordance with Systems and/or Hardware Engineer direction
- acting as a technical interface to working level counterparts and the customer
- conducting/supporting technical level meetings
- documenting, managing and statusing assigned scope via Agile methodologies
- supporting the development of Basis of Estimates (BOE) and Engineering Estimates (EE) through analysis of scope and requirements, and providing labor and material estimates with justification.
- The successful Site Engineering deputy will be a member of a focused team, who will interface with peer-level team members, the Deployment Team Leadership and management to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.
- This position requires the ability to work both remotely and on-site in Colorado Springs with a team.
- Some travel possible to support site survey and installations as required.
Qualifications
- The individual should hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Mechanical Engineering preferred), or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years or more of relevant professional experience.
- Active Secret clearance
- Be able to communicate effectively and clearly to present technical approaches and findings; have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to perform root cause analysis and identify systemic issues; have the ability to implement engineering plans within a project; and possess knowledge of systems and hardware engineering concepts, principles, and techniques and have familiarity with drafting practices and DoW (formerly DoD) drawing requirements.
- Be familiar with common rack-mounted computing equipment (servers and workstations), networking equipment and cable (e.g. fiber, CAT-6, etc.) selection to support interconnection and powering of selected computing equipment.
- Candidate should be a self-starter, with the demonstrated ability to resolve tasks with limited guidance, and manage tasks within a dynamic environment.
- Position requires a blend of systems engineering, hardware design/engineering, drafting and technical site support skills.
- The selected applicant should possess:
- proficiency in Microsoft Visio (other, equivalent professional drawing programs desired) for rack layout and technical diagram creation; proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of tools
- knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and techniques
- experience in parts listings and reference codes
- a strong understanding of Department of War (DoD) drafting and hardware engineering standards; experience in hardware engineering and the analysis of hardware requirements (e.g., heat, weight, power)
- this includes familiarity with common rack-mounted computing equipment (servers, workstations) and networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs)
- the ability to design, prepare/draft and review rack-level and site drawings/plans, technical manuals, and other engineering products
Desired skills/experience:
- Bill of Material development; drafting and design engineering
- Configuration control, management of technical drawings
- Conducting in person site surveys to prepare for hardware installations
- Proficiency in systems engineering concepts, including requirements analysis, architecture, and integration.
- Previous experience in Systems Engineering/Hardware engineering is highly desired.
- Knowledge and experience with Jira and Agile methodologies is highly desired.
