Culmen International is seeking an International SOF Support SME to support the USSOCOM J3-International (J3-I) Division onsite at MacDill AFB. This role is situated within the Plans and Integration (Plans & Ops) branch, which serves as the primary coordination center for enhancing interoperability and strengthening alliances across the global Special Operations Forces (SOF) enterprise.
*** This is a high-impact, temporary position through August 2026, working directly alongside our international partners to provide strategic options for the U.S. and Partner Nations.
What You'll Do in Your New Role:
Operational Synchronization: Identify international SOF requirements and areas requiring deconfliction, synchronization, and coordination with US SOF operational headquarters.
Planning Integration: Directly integrate Partner Nation (PN) SOF into USSOCOM planning efforts to enable the development of multinational courses of action.
Maintain the Common Operational Picture (COP): Assist in developing and maintaining a common operational picture of PN SOF activities to ensure their strategic interests are captured in USSOCOM forums such as the Global SOF Synchronization Process (GSOS).
Coordination Events: Plan, schedule, and execute high-level coordination events, including planning meetings and Secure Video Teleconferences (SVTCs) with TSOCs and international partner headquarters.
Information Management: Manage tracking mechanisms for PN requests for support, information, and status of operational deployments.
Required Qualifications:
Military Qualification: MUST be a graduate of a U.S. SOF component selection and assessment program (e.g., US Army Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), Navy SEAL BUD/S, MARSOC/Raider, or AF Special Operations equivalent).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university.
Combat Experience: At least one year of recent (within the last 5 years) combat/operational experience as part of a multinational special operation (e.g., ISAF).
Staff Experience: 3 years of recent (within the last 7 years) regional experience as a member of a Geographic Combatant Command (GCC) or Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) staff.
Joint Education: Graduate of a Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) course, Intermediate Development Course, or a Senior Professional Military Education Course.
Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Desired Qualifications:
International Environment: 1+ years of experience in an international SOF environment (e.g., assignment to NATO SOF HQ or a GCC coalition coordination center).
Interagency Liaison: Experience working with Foreign Disclosure and international partner information exchanges.
Mentorship: Ability to mentor international SOF officers and senior NCOs on USSOCOM culture and operational headquarters.
Strategic Planning: Experience participating in and facilitating strategic planning at the HQ level.
