Job Title: Training and Operations Support Team Member (On-Orbit Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Characterization)

Key Responsibilities: KBR is seeking a Space-Based Training and Operations Support Team Member who will be responsible for representing the On-Orbit SDA and Characterization tool at USSPACECOM, located at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. The On-Orbit SDA and Characterization tools (such as KBR's Space Defense Characterization and Control System (SDCCS) and Iron Stallion), are SDA analysis and visualization java-based software platforms that focus on robust space intelligence operations, data integration, visualizations, and automated data analytics.

The position's roles and function would include acting as the tool's operational Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of USSPACECOM training, products, visualizations, and briefings and providing troubleshooting and incident resolution for USSPACECOM operations; performing authoring and customizations for USSPACECOM operational needs including providing real-time configuration changes as well as enhancing exercise and mission rehearsal planning, execution, and after action reporting for related activities; and representing the tool in internal and external operational integration meetings. Applicants must be self-motivated, team-oriented, able to adapt to dynamic environments, and work with personnel from other organizations and companies.

Positional Responsibilities:

Responsible for introducing, educating, growing, integrating, and promoting the On-Orbit Space Domain Awareness and Characterization tool to personnel from USSPACECOM.

Train Space Activity Synchronization officers to conduct orbital warfare analysis and understand space domain awareness (SDA) by conducting Resident Space Object (RSO) characterization and analysis of metric observations of Geosynchronous Orbit-based assets.

Provide Mission Support duties by assisting in spacecraft anomaly resolution and baseline spacecraft configuration by conducting characterization operations of cooperative spacecraft.

Present the On-Orbit Space Domain Awareness and Characterization tool's capabilities to space crew operators, multinational partners, and senior military leaders (e.g., Colonels, General Officers, SESs, etc.).

Create tailored training curriculum that meets USSPACECOM operational mission needs to support Desired Learning Objectives (DLOs), Enabling Learning Objectives (ELOs), etc.

Attend various coordination and planning meetings to understand, capture, and work to closure USSPACECOM operational requirements for the tool.

Assist the USG and support USSPACECOM with planning, coordination, briefing, and execution of training and exercises in support of theater and global space operations.

Plan and execute unclassified and/or classified training sessions for USSPACECOM and other operators of the tool.

Monitor proper use and function of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS).

Ensure that local training regulations and applicable safety standards are followed by the training unit.

Requirements:

Possess expert knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities of US and foreign space systems.

Demonstrated space knowledge with orbital mechanics, orbit determination and analysis, maneuver planning, Rendezvous Proximity Operations (RPO), orbital engagement maneuvers, and space surveillance operations.

Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a technical, space-related or software-related field, with a focus on adult learning principles.

Proven experience in teaching within classroom environments and delivering instruction to adult learners across various methodologies.

Proficiency in creating training materials using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptability to other emerging tool suites.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing training-related challenges.

Basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) support principles, particularly in administering software tools.

10 years of training and exercise support and/or space operations experience.

Must be willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.

Bachelor's Degree.

Must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

Experience as an orbital analyst or equivalent training and/or certifications.

Experience with orbital analysis and/or SDA tools software applications such as STK, SPADOC, ATLAS, OSIRIS, CAVENET, C2BMCG, etc.

Understanding of SDA tools such as COCO, COMBO, DA-ASAT, ISSP, TRIC, LAMOD, etc.

Experience or certification in project management and/or operations support or management.

Active Top-Secret clearance.

Basic Compensation:

$86-128k

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Work Environment:
  • Location: Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 10% travel required
  • Working Hours: Standard 40 hours per week

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
