Lockheed Martin is looking for a dynamic, hardworking Systems Engineer - Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) to support a new missile defense program.
In this role, you will report to the Systems Engineering Manager, and your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Support the Program's HWIL development and integration efforts
• Work with multi-disciplined engineering resources for the HWIL lab
• Integrate models/simulations/emulators for launchers, peculiar support equipment, fire control/battery operations center
• Support testing/verification activities in the HWIL lab
• Lead tasks associated with HWIL design/development

Basic Qualifications:
• Knowledge and application of Engineering and Integration functions and processes, such as: System trade studies, Design reviews, Configuration management. Hardware design, development, and test

• Air & Missile Defense (AMD), Strike Weapon, or other large-scale weapon system experience

• Experience in the support and development of HWIL lab

• Experience supporting the integration of hardware and software systems across multiple design disciplines and subsystems

• Active or Current Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in either Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related fields including mathematics degree with a physics-based focus from an accredited college/university

• Electrical or Mechanical design and integration

• Experience reviewing data from subsystems and demonstrating compatibility, assessing requirements compliance, identifying and resolving risks, and implementing opportunities for improved solutions vs. system requirements

• 5+ years with design, development, integration, or test, with broad-based and in-depth knowledge of space, missile, and/or launch systems at the component through system level

• Experience ensuring the physical and functional compatibility of hardware products throughout the full life cycle of the program

• Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or Delegate CPE for avionics and/or embedded flight software, or similar, and Engineering Material Review (EMRB) experience; ability to interact with hardware and software CPEs and designers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied

• CAD Proficiency (I-DEAS, Creo, etc.)

• Proven ability to get results from teams without direct authority

• Software design and Integration

• Proven understanding of LINUX and Windows Operating Systems

• Experience with C/C++ programming

• Proficient in Matlab

• Active or Current Top Secret Security Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $125,600 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
