We are seeking a highly skilled Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance within outside plant environments. A strong understanding of fiber optic theory and in-depth knowledge of fiber optic test and verification equipment is essential.
- Performing fiber optic cable installation, splicing, terminations, and testing in aerial, underground and Data Center environments
- Operating, maintaining, and interpreting results from optical test equipment including OTDRs, light source/power meters, and fiber inspection scopes
- Conducting site surveys, document field conditions, and providing input for design and engineering teams
- Interpreting and working from engineering prints, schematics, and splice diagrams
- Troubleshooting fiber optic systems and perform emergency restoration work when necessary
- Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including test results and cable routing
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other field personnel to ensure timely completion of work

Requirements
- 0 - 2 years of experience with fiber optic environments
- Secret clearance but able to obtain Top Secret
- Ability to lift, carry, move 50 lbs
- Willing to work evenings when required
- Onsite position in Charleston, SC
Desired Skills
- Experience with GIS mapping or fiber management software
- Knowledge of construction permitting and right-of-way procedures
- Experience working in federal or secure environments
