Software Engineer (Java) – Top Secret Clearance Required

Overview
We are supporting a mission-critical program that provides software solutions for the Intelligence, Global Strike, and Nuclear Planning communities. This work directly supports the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and involves full-stack development of Java-based web applications in an Agile/DevSecOps environment.
This is an opportunity to contribute to highly impactful national security software involving war planning, mission execution, and situational awareness.
Responsibilities
• Develop and test full-stack Java applications within an Agile/DevSecOps team
• Build web-based mission systems and tools supporting Global Strike and related operational communities
• Utilize modern software development practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding
• Participate in daily standups, design reviews, sprint planning, and team-based development
• Contribute to UI, backend services, APIs, and integration points
• Create and maintain documentation, test plans, and engineering artifacts
• Collaborate closely with government stakeholders and program leadership
• Work onsite in a secure environment supporting classified mission systems
Required Skills
• Strong experience with Java / JEE development
• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot
• Experience with JavaScript and modern UI technologies
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices
• DevOps mindset and the ability to work in iterative Agile cycles
• Experience with application servers such as Tomcat, Oracle, or WebLogic
• Understanding of design patterns, layered architecture, and best development practices
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills
• Experience with Eclipse, Jenkins, GitLab, Gradle, Git, JUnit, Selenium, or Jira
• Experience with JavaScript libraries/frameworks such as Ext JS, React, Angular, or Vue
• Experience with CSS/HTML front-end development
• Web services experience (REST, JSON, XML)
• Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience developing in secure environments
• Experience with Agile practices (SCRUM, XP)
• Exposure to mission planning or strike applications (USSTRATCOM-related)
