Our El Mirage Quality Assurance team is seeking a Safety Technician. This position is responsible for ensuring life safety equipment and hazardous waste management programs remain compliant with all applicable company, local, state, and federal regulations. Supports implementation of environmental, health and safety programs. Conducts routine, periodic and special inspections to maintain life safety equipment. Reports environmental, health and safety violations or potential workplace hazards to management. Ensures proper handling and storage of hazardous waste material while inspecting locations where waste is contained. Maintains a variety of electronic and hard copy records and statistics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with inspection of work areas, life safety equipment (e.g. eye wash stations, AEDs, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc), and hazardous waste storage areas for company and regulatory compliance.
- Supports routine, periodic and special inspections to maintain life safety equipment functionality. Assists with disposing and replacing when expired or depleted. Maintains related inventory and inspection logs.
- Assists with proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste, including satellite accumulation areas and maintaining central accumulation areas at each location.
- Assists with observation of employee work habits for compliance with environmental, health and safety practices.
- Helps ensure personal protective equipment is being used according to regulations.
- May assist in Emergency Response Team (ERT) and employee training.
- Takes measurements and collect workspace data for routine inspection.
- Assists with the implementation and monitoring of environmental, health and safety programs. 8.Helps conduct facility surveys and program evaluations of facilities and operations to identify safety/environmental issues.
- Ensures compliance with required training and participates in updating procedures and practices.
- Maintains a variety of electronic and hard copy records and statistics.
- May assist in implementation of corrective action.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of related work experience.
- Must have a complete understanding of environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, practices, and relevant regulations.
- Must possess a proven ability to establish priorities.
- Interpersonal skills and written communication skills to effectively interface with employees.
- The ability to accurately document and maintain records and files.
- A valid California driver's license.
