Job Summary:

B&A is looking for an Platform Engineer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and evolve scalable, secure, and highly available platform solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with deep experience in CMC tenancy, API integration, and complex data design and migration initiatives. You'll work closely with architecture, product, and delivery teams to enable reliable platforms that support business growth and modernization.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage platform architectures with a strong focus on CMC tenancy and multi-tenant scalability
  • Lead the development and integration of APIs, ensuring performance, security, and maintainability
  • Own data architecture, including logical and physical data models across systems
  • Plan and execute data migration strategies, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Establish and enforce platform engineering best practices, standards, and documentation
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance and reliability
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to long-term platform roadmaps

Education and Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in platform, systems, or backend engineering
  • a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Required Skills:
  • Proven hands-on experience with CMC tenancy in enterprise or large-scale environments
  • Strong background in API design and integration (REST, event-driven, or similar patterns)
  • Solid experience with data design, including relational and/or NoSQL data stores
  • Demonstrated success leading data migration efforts for complex systems
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments

Desired Skills:
  • Experience working in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments
  • Familiarity with microservices and domain-driven design
  • Exposure to data governance, security, and compliance considerations
  • Previous experience acting as a technical lead or platform owner

Security Clearance
  • Willing and eligible to obtain a government clearance.
