Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support our client in Colorado Springs, CO. The Senior Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure in support of mission-essential federal systems. This role will oversee network administration, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure the performance, availability, and security of large-scale network environments.
Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer include:
· Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators
· Monitor network performance and implement optimization strategies to improve throughput and reliability
· Troubleshoot complex network issues using firewall logs, packet captures, and tools such as Wireshark while collaborating with cross - functional teams
· Conduct capacity planning and bandwidth management to support future growth and evolving mission needs
· Integrate network infrastructure with cloud services, storage platforms, and other enterprise IT systems
· Create and maintain documentation including configurations, diagrams, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides
· Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers and support secure tenant network segments
Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include:
· Active Secret clearance
· U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship), required for federal suitability
· Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience, or additional experience in lieu of degree
· One of the following certifications: CCNP, CCDE, or CCIE (mandatory)
· Ability to work fully onsite and remain within a commutable distance to Colorado Springs, CO
· Ability to participate in an on - call rotation supporting 24x7x365 mission system
Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $160,000 - $185,000
