Job Description
Join a dynamic and well-versed IT & Security team that provides support across several business areas within BAE Systems' Electronic Systems. The opportunity to lead a program security team, in one of the leading companies in Aerospace and Defense, offers a motivated professional a unique position to work across a broad range of activities. BAE Systems is hiring a Business Area Security Lead with oversight of all Industrial and Special Program security activities within the FAST Labs Business Area.

In this Security Lead position supporting our Fast Labs business area you will make impacts in the following ways;
  • Direct and oversee industrial and program security teams within the Business Area, executing the compliance of security requirements in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures
  • Responsible for providing leadership essential to developing the Business Area posture in support of short and long-term business objectives and security best practices to enable business execution
  • Responsible for team compliance with 32 CFR Part 117, DoD SAP Manuals, ICD 705 , and customer provided security directives for contracted classified national security information and controlled unclassified information (CUI)
  • Fosters innovative problem solving, performance excellence, and continuous improvement to deliver affordable, effective, and dependable solutions
  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing, diverse talent who create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and innovation focused on our mission
  • Direct the execution of Business Area security to support requirements defined by the SSA and BAE Systems Inc. policies and procedures, specifically Policy 400 & 405 with applicable appendixes
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with relevant Defense and Aerospace standards and legislation
  • Ensure the integration of support provided by the Emergency Services Center and PERSEC office to support facilities, personnel, and access management
  • Fiscal responsibility for the Business Area security budget ensuring financial responsibility to the overall security budget, to include forecasting capital requests, personnel utilization, and appropriate staffing
  • Ensure standard and comprehensive construction requirements for environments at all classification levels while adhering to physical security standards derived from customer policy and the current threat environment


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 or more years' of related security experience including leadership within a security function.
  • An active government Top Secret clearance, with ability to access Special Access Programs and Sensitive Compartmented Information. Individual must be able to successfully pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph
  • Must demonstrate proven leadership skills and excellent communication skills
  • Strong understanding of compliance programs and integration into business operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117, DoD SAP Manuals, ICD 705
  • Experience working with product development teams in an agile or DevOps environment
  • Demonstrated ability to create innovative solutions that create exceptional collaboration environments
  • Ability to solve complex decisions independently
  • Capable of developing collaborative relationships both internally and externally
  • Identify inefficiencies, functional overlap, synergies and opportunities and implement solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to instill a culture of compliant business execution, while enabling efficient, uninterrupted operations


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Master's Degree
  • TS//SCI with current CI Polygraph
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Special Access Program Cyber Assurance requirements
  • Technical understanding of Information Systems, accreditation process, and IT Systems administration.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $134640 - $228888

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
