Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill in a Telemetry Tracking and Control (TT&C) System Engineer position that just opened in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will Lead system architecture, design, and requirements development for Common Ground Enterprise (CGE) Command and Control (C2) systems. To be considered, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics (STEM) field plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Role and Position Objectives
As a Telemetry Tracking and Control (TT&C) System Engineer, you will be a key contributor on a cross-functional engineering team supporting U.S. missile defense and space command programs. This role focuses on the design, architecture, integration, and lifecycle ownership of Command and Control (C2) systems within a Common Ground Enterprise (CGE) environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead system architecture, design, and requirements development for Common Ground Enterprise (CGE) Command and Control (C2) systems
  • Support end-to-end systems engineering ownership, from concept development through integration, test, deployment, and sustainment
  • Design and support command queues, C2 automation, and telemetry archival schemas for large satellite constellations, including system hardening
  • Support Command and Control (C2) system development, integration, and test activities
  • Collaborate closely with software, hardware, integration, and test teams in fast-paced program environments


Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics (STEM) field
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience
    • OR Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience
  • Agile development experience preferred

Citizenship Requirement
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within secure facilities


Technical Skills and Experience (Preferred)
  • Common Ground Enterprise (CGE) system architecture and C2 requirements development
  • Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) C2 tools such as OpenC3 or similar platforms
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with space and missile defense Command and Control systems
  • Knowledge of industry and government standards, including:
    • CCSDS (Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems)
    • XTCE (XML Telemetric and Command Exchange)
    • cFS (Core Flight System)
  • Experience with STTC (S-band) RF systems
  • Understanding of full lifecycle systems engineering ("cradle-to-grave") ownership


What Sets You Apart
  • Experience creating and managing Space-to-Ground and Ground-to-Antenna Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Background in operational space command or aerospace mission environments
  • Hands-on experience with COTS-based, microservices-driven C2 architectures
  • Familiarity with modern data and infrastructure technologies, including:
    • InfluxDB, Kafka, Redis
    • Kubernetes and containerized systems
    • Cloud environments (AWS, Red Hat OpenShift Platform - RHOSP)
  • Experience integrating COTS solutions in lab or operational environments alongside integration and test teams
  • Knowledge of antenna system build-out, operations, and interfaces, including Ground Entry Point (GEP) as a service
