Job Overview
The Systems Engineer 1 assists with the designing, developing, and implementing complex unmanned systems and network solutions. This role will support various phases of the systems engineering lifecycle; including conceptual definition, requirement development and decomposition, system modeling and design documentation, integration, verification and validation, and system deployment.
Essential Functions
- Assist in collecting and documenting stakeholder needs and support translation into system requirements.
- Participate in requirement reviews to ensure requirements are clear, feasible, testable, and aligned with program objectives.
- Assist with the development and documentation of system architecture utilizing MBSE modeling tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve system issues and improve system functionality.
- Support the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including system diagrams, user manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the development and execution of test plans and procedures to verify system performance against the requirements.
- Assist with project planning and implementation efforts, including resource allocation, risk identification and assessment, and project scheduling.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings, progress, and issues to team members and stake holders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency with industry standard engineering tools is desired.
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM or Engineering discipline, such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 0 - 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering, with a focus on design, development, and maintenance of complex systems.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama is desired.
- Experience with productivity tools such as the Atlassian tool suite including Jira and Confluence is desired.
- Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo and/or Rhapsody is desired.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Excel is desired.
- DoD work experience is desired.
