Markon is seeking a Cloud System Architect to support the design, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise cloud environments to support the Fort Meade Customer. This role supports cloud-based infrastructure and platform services across AWS, OpenStack, and Microsoft Azure, with a strong emphasis on automation, DevOps practices, and customer-facing support. This position will work with minimal supervision, serve as a technical liaison to architecture and capacity teams, and support Tier I/II operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and sustain cloud-based infrastructure across production, staging, and test environments.
  • Develop and automate cloud solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices.
  • Support Linux and Windows workloads in cloud environments using automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker.
  • Provide Tier I/II support for cloud-based resources, including implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Assist users in accessing and utilizing cloud compute and platform services.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact between customers and Architecture and Capacity Engineering teams.
  • Plan and execute cloud integrations and deployments, including infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, load testing, and disaster recovery.
  • Ensure deployments are scalable, resilient, and low-downtime, with strong attention to planning and execution.
  • Automate and optimize cloud infrastructure deployments using modern tooling and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, updating Wikis and SharePoint knowledge bases.
  • Monitor and respond to operational communications, including chat channels.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field plus 9 years of relevant experience,
    OR 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, OpenStack, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience using cloud and container platforms such as OpenStack, Eucalyptus, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and cloud automation tools.
  • Experience administering and developing for Linux environments.
  • Experience writing automation or utility scripts using Python, Perl, or Ruby.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no prescriptive guidance.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and customer support skills.

Required Certifications
  • 1 active mid-level or advanced cloud certification, such as:
    • AWS (Associate or Professional)
    • Microsoft Azure (Associate or Expert)
    • OpenStack certification

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) implementations.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Experience integrating new cloud solutions into existing enterprise environments or off-premise infrastructure.
  • Experience working with ServPro teams or similar service provider org


Salary Range

USD $210,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.
