Overview
Agensys Corporation is seeking an experienced Integration Architect to support the Joint Operational Medicine Information Systems (JOMIS) portfolio within a large federal health IT environment.
This role is responsible for designing end-to-end technical solutions that integrate multiple applications, platforms, and data sources across the JOMIS ecosystem. The Integration Architect translates mission needs, operational requirements, and technical constraints into practical, secure, and buildable architectures that delivery teams can execute.
The position works closely with product owners, engineering teams, data and cloud architects, cybersecurity stakeholders, and external vendors to guide solution design from concept through implementation-ensuring systems are well-integrated, compliant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities
Solution & Integration Architecture
- Lead end-to-end solution design for JOMIS systems, including application workflows, integrations, interfaces, and deployment approaches
- Translate operational, clinical, and program requirements into clear technical designs that delivery teams can implement
- Define system boundaries, responsibilities, interfaces, and dependencies across JOMIS applications and external systems
- Design integration approaches using APIs, messaging, data exchange, and other interoperability patterns
- Document and socialize solution options, tradeoffs, and architectural decisions with stakeholders
Legacy Modernization & Platform Evolution
- Design modernization and migration approaches for legacy capabilities, including sequencing, integration impacts, and cutover or rollback considerations
- Support integration across legacy systems, modern applications, cloud platforms, and external partners
- Collaborate with platform, data, and cloud architects to ensure solutions align with approved hosting patterns, data models, and standards
Security, Privacy & Compliance
- Ensure solution designs account for security, privacy, and compliance requirements related to sensitive government and healthcare data (e.g., PHI, PII, CUI)
- Partner with cybersecurity and accreditation teams to ensure designs are secure, approvable, and operable
- Identify risks early and propose mitigation strategies that balance security with delivery realities
Delivery & Stakeholder Support
- Lead or support architecture and design reviews, identifying gaps, risks, and dependencies early
- Support Agile delivery teams by answering design questions, validating implementation decisions, and resolving technical issues
- Track architecture-related work and decisions in Jira to maintain visibility and alignment
- Develop and maintain solution documentation, including system diagrams, integration flows, interface definitions, and technical decision records
- Ensure solutions support data, analytics, and AI/ML use cases within a highly integrated product ecosystem
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or application design roles
- Demonstrated experience designing complex systems with multiple integrations and stakeholders
- Strong understanding of application architecture, APIs, data flows, and system interoperability
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (federal or DoD preferred)
- Familiarity working in Agile delivery environments alongside development teams
- Ability to clearly document and explain technical designs to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound technical judgment
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active Secret clearance preferred; ability to obtain and maintain clearance as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal health IT or operational medicine systems
- Architecture or systems engineering certifications (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent)
- Agile or delivery framework certifications (SAFe, Scrum, PMI-ACP)
- Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Security or compliance certifications (Security+, CISSP)
- Experience with integration architecture, API design, or interoperability standards
