Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Director 1. This leadership role will be located in Melbourne, FL and reports directly to the division Mission Assurance Director 2.

The Mission Assurance Director will lead all Mission Assurance efforts related to development & modernization efforts, and integration across the program build sites to support a production program.

The MA Development & Integration director will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide leadership that fosters an inclusive, motivated, and engaged work culture.
  • Provide program support and leadership to all currently funded modernization and development efforts.
  • Develop and obtain division and sector approvals on BoE's for future proposals and modernization efforts
  • Standup of program wide corrective and preventive action team to drive down total open and aging items. Develop a strategy (in alignment with functional homeroom RCCA process improvements) to yield significant improvement in timeliness and effectiveness
  • Integrate Mission Assurance into the program change process, ensuring consistent methodologies across the sub-IPT's or sites for assessing impacts
  • Risk, Issue & Opportunity leadership and coordination with Program Integration & Execution (PI&E) team to formalize and provision for issues early in the corrective action investigation phase
  • Work directly with operating entities such as engineering and manufacturing to ensure that inspections, process control analyses, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis to enforce requirements and compliance. Demonstrate or determine statistical process control within key build processes and identify corrective steps to achieve where needed.
  • Ensure the Quality/Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering processes are consistent with industry capability maturity models and QMS standards (ISO 9001).


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience as defined below, OR a Master's degree and 8 years of related experience as defined below;
    • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in aircraft, aerospace, manufacturing, quality, program management, engineering, and/or business management related functions
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience as a leader
  • Active DoD Clearance (secret or higher)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Special Program Access (PAR)
  • Strong people leadership skills with an ability to lead teams through a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Experience in root cause and corrective action and process failure mode effects analysis
  • Engineering or technical background developing metrics for process health and performance monitoring
  • Understanding of engineering requirements and intent and understanding of Quality and Mission Assurance roles to validate those requirements
  • Leadership experience in both EMD and Production programs
  • Demonstrated experience developing, communicating, and instituting new processes for an organization
  • Familiarity with NG QMS, AS9100, DCMA compliance and other regulatory documents


Primary Level Salary Range: $176,100.00 - $264,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
