30210-Laboratory Technician

Overview

The Laboratory Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate compilation, reporting, and submission of deliverables and environmental sample reports. The position primarily involves maintaining laboratory documentation requirements and records while performing essential laboratory analyses in compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines.

This role demands rigorous attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt laboratory procedures and testing protocols to meet customer specifications and dynamic requirements. Administrative and technical responsibilities are supplemented by proficiency testing to support certifications for drinking water and wastewater analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses using applicable and approved client methods for primarily drinking water and wastewater samples.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory science techniques such as use of a balance, pipettes and thermometers, and familiarity with basic scientific principles.
• Adheres to all guidelines established in the client's methods and laboratory standard operating procedures including active participation in quality control set forth in all.
• Primary Sample Custodian including initial preservation testing, entry into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), labeling and proper storage.
• Responsible for compiling all sample reports.
• Primary Property custodian for the tracking of laboratory equipment and all laboratory Material Requests.
• Actively participates in contractor quality and safety programs including Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA) management.
• Responsible for review and generation of Standard Operating Procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.

• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills - to effectively extract and analyze data to generate comprehensive technical and failure analysis reports.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
• Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or education in general laboratory practices and concepts.

Pay Range

USD $30.59 - USD $30.59 /Hr.
