Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Principal/SR Principal Project Manager to support the Navigation & Cockpit Business Unit within the Navigation, Intelligence and Connectivity (NIC) Division. This position will be located onsite in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Principal/SR Principal Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of critical programs within our Lifecycle Product Sustainment organization. The role demands an experienced leader who can drive execution excellence by balancing technical, operational, and customer-facing activities. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage schedules and budgets, and become the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring project success while adhering to contractual and quality requirements. This role supports both Government and Commercial contracts, Foreign and Domestic customers.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $152,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Satisfy customer expectations of rapid product repair turn-around time, develop/adopt and integrate solutions for difficult repair situations involving component obsolescence or compressed timeframes, and provide accurate and timely project status reporting to internal and external management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, delivering regular status updates, managing change requests, and addressing concerns.
- Plan and direct all phases of project execution-from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure-to ensure timely and on-budget delivery.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, establish milestones, and track progress against baseline plans and strategic objectives.
- Supporting development of product business plans including new business or product line expansion with the customer and within the business unit
- Identify potential obstacles and proactively implement risk management strategies, including resource allocation and contractual adjustments.
- Oversee project budgets and financial performance, ensuring transparency and accuracy in reporting.
- Coordinate work across technical, manufacturing, and administrative teams, ensuring effective collaboration and efficient workflow.
- Utilize software tools such as MS Office Suite (with advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Project) and ERP systems, including SAP, to manage data and support decision making.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to optimize productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction while maintaining strict adherence to contractual commitments.
- Leading and coordinating the work of employees assigned to the program/project from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas
- Facilitate proposal and scope development, including contract negotiations and requirements clarification when needed.
