Description:What You Will Be Doing
This Aircraft Mechanic I duties and responsibilities encompass the primary responsibility of modifying and refurbishing C-130 aircraft interior furnishings. The responsibility requires intricate modification and customization of the upholstering to meet the specific and special operations mission set of the C-130 Aircraft. This Aircraft Mechanic I will also be responsible for all airframe unique interior configurations, modifications, and fabrication. The mechanic will act as the subject matter expert for C-130 upholstering modification and fabrication. The individual must have a comprehensive knowledge of C-130 aircraft upholstering, general upholstery techniques, and a robust knowledge of the tools and equipment required for furnishing and upholstering. This Aircraft Mechanic I must have the ability to troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and replace associated parts/components for the upholstery craft. In addition to the upholstering responsibilities, the mechanic will support general modification and maintenance activities within the modification line, including general airframe wire routing and securing, aircraft component removal and replacement, and flight line support activities such as; servicing / towing / securing / launch and recovery / etc.
This Aircraft Mechanic I makes repairs to aircraft following orders of a higher grade worker, assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, hydraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. Removes, cleans, reinstalls, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, and fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil lines. This worker may supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft, makes adjustments and setting such as cable tension and seat movement settings and adjustments: obtains standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and spark plug cables and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and by making comparisons with samples, may perform pre-flight, thru-flight and post-flight maintenance inspections, enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed, and service engines and aircraft components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
Duties require that this Aircraft Mechanic I: to perform preflight, thru-flight, and basic post-flight maintenance inspections, perform as Refuel/Defuel, Jack and Tow Team member. Individual will also be required to perform other miscellaneous aircraft services to include but not limited to: Lox, Hydraulic and Engine Oil, service aircraft tire and perform aircraft lubes. Mechanic must also be proficient at all tasks required to launch and recover C-130 aircraft.

Basic Qualifications:
Aviation Upholstery Experience.
Employee must have a knowledge base and experience in general aviation maintenance practices.
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, and must have an interim secret clearance prior to start so therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen
