Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer in support of the P-8 Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) organization in Richardson, TX. This position will serve as the leader for RIO (Risk, Issue, and Opportunity) development and implementation across the portfolio of Special Projects Dallas (SPD) programs.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead execution of RIO Management processes for the SPD team.
  • Work with risk, issue, and opportunity owners to develop and maintain mitigation and/or capture plans.
  • Interface with program managers to ensure the RIO Management process implementation meets SPD program needs.
  • Develop RIO Management process metrics to track SPD performance and ensure timeliness of RIO updates.
  • Maintain SPD RIO management process documentation and make updates to processes with stakeholder agreement.
  • Maintain awareness of program plans and technical issues to effectively manage risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Coach SPD teams on effective RIO management.
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 1+ years of experience supporting projects or programs utilizing Earned Value management and Risk, Issues and Opportunity (RIO) management to drive program performance.
  • 1+ years of experience working within a fast-paced team environment, which required strong communication skills to frequently interact with leadership or internal and external customer representatives.
  • Experience with tools for managing RIO such as BORIS (Boeing Opportunity, Risk, and Issue System).
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance.

Summary pay range: $119,850 - $162,150
