Our client delivers advanced engineering solutions supporting mission critical operations for the Department of Defense and aerospace programs. This role is part of the Space Development Agency (SDA) Ground Mission Integration (GMI) effort, developing and deploying secure, scalable ground systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software for SDA ground operational systems.
• Implement robust APIs and services; write unit/integration tests and automate validation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; apply GitOps, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.
• Containerize applications and orchestrate services with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Collaborate across development, operations, and security to meet performance and compliance goals.
• Document architecture, interfaces, runbooks, and operational procedures; contribute to readiness reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related STEM field and 5+ years of experience; OR Master's degree plus 3 years.
• Agile/Scaled Agile experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and Java; strong grasp of API design, testing, and management.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles (CI/CD, automation, IaC), cloud platforms (AWS; Azure a plus).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Understanding of security best practices (risk/compliance, vulnerability management, encryption/PKI, auditing/monitoring).
• Excellent problem?solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Clearance Requirements

• Department of Defense Top Secret clearance preferred at time of hire.
• Applicants may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
