This role contributes to the Space Development Agency (SDA) Ground Mission Integration (GMI) effort-building secure, scalable ground systems that enable resilient space capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deploy software components for SDA ground operational systems.
• Develop robust APIs and services; create unit/integration tests and automate validation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; apply GitOps, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.
• Containerize applications and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security to meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
• Author technical documentation (architecture, interfaces, runbooks) and contribute to readiness reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 6 months of experience.
• Agile / Scaled Agile experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and Java; strong understanding of API design, testing, and management.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles (CI/CD, automation, IaC), cloud platforms (AWS; Azure a plus).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Understanding of security best practices (risk/compliance, vulnerability management, encryption/PKI, auditing/monitoring).
• Excellent problem solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Clearance Requirements

• Department of Defense Top Secret clearance preferred at time of hire.
• Applicants may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
