Responsibilities
- Design and maintain container orchestration platforms; automate platform lifecycle (provisioning, upgrades, scaling, hardening).
- Automate deployment and configuration of core infrastructure services: identity and access, networking, application security, logging, monitoring, and delivery.
- Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows; integrate tests, security scans, and compliance gates.
- Collaborate with internal/external platform consumers to guide architecture, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Author runbooks and platform documentation; contribute to reliability reviews and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related STEM field and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 6 years.
- Experience with public/private/mixed cloud environments (AWS, Azure; RHOSP, VIO).
- Hands-on with containers (Docker) and Kubernetes (or Rancher/OpenShift).
- Practical experience with CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Jenkins) and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Infrastructure automation using Terraform/Terragrunt and pipeline orchestration.
- Supporting production-grade apps in virtualized/cloud environments using automation.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work cross functionally.
- Knowledge of DoD/IC security practices: encryption, certificates/key management, patch/STIG/RMF hardening, auditing.
- Familiarity with scalable networking and web standards: NGINX/load balancers/firewalls, REST APIs, web security mechanisms.
- Cloud: AWS, Azure; IaaS OpenStack/RHOSP/VIO
- Platforms: Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift
- Automation: Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, Packer
- Messaging/DB/Cache: RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch
- Observability: logging/monitoring integrations across platform services
- Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire.
- Applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
