We have an exciting opportunity located in Poway, CA as a Landing Gear Systems (LGS) Engineer. In this position, you will develop, validate, and sustain high quality landing gear systems to meet the needs of our aircraft platforms. The GA-ASI's landing gear systems' responsibilities include undercarriage system layout, tires, wheels, brakes, braking systems, landing gear structure, shock absorption, airframe interface, steering system, retract system, and sensors. You will also collaborate with interdisciplinary functional teams including Aero Structures, Airframe Integrity, Actuated Systems, Flight Technologies, EE, Controls, and Software to ensure system level success. This Engineer will participate in landing gear system lifecycle development activities including requirements definition, design reviews, procurement/manufacturing, and qualification/certification. You will also perform trade studies of relevant technologies, devices, and components. Additionally, you will provide product support for the GA-ASI's existing landing gear systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports operation of engineering systems and documents any problems.
- Devises new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems. Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.
- Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.
- May represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects.
- Provides direction to design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.
- Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
- Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work extended hours as required. An EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate is desirable.
