Job Description:
Saab, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Field Engineer with a broad technical background and proven experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting radar, command and control (C2), and/or weapons systems in dynamic operational environments worldwide. This is a hands-on role requiring frequent short-notice domestic and international travel. Deployments may exceed two months per assignment, with total travel reaching up to 50% annually. Candidates must be comfortable operating effectively in demanding, mission-focused settings.

Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, debug, and repair complex electro-mechanical systems using technical manuals, schematics, and reach-back engineering support as required.
- Perform on-site software installations, system updates, and support data collection activities for technical analysis and issue resolution.
- Independently investigate and resolve complex system, hardware, and software issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams when escalation is required.
- Serve as the escalation point for issues that first-line technicians cannot resolve, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Document and report design, reliability, maintenance, and software issues to engineering teams to support continuous product improvement.
- Act as the primary customer interface while on site, provide technical leadership, status updates, and professional representation of the organization.
- Support other functional areas, including system installation, customer training, and operational readiness activities.
- Deliver training to customers on the operation and maintenance of Saab products.

Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree (preferably in an engineering discipline) with 5+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or 8+ years of relevant military experience in radar, C2 systems, or weapon systems.
- Must hold a current U.S. DoD SECRET clearance.
- Must have the ability to lift and remove or replace components weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience operating, integrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex weapon systems and/or command and control (C2) components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with established technical procedures and maintenance standards.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify, develop, and execute troubleshooting or maintenance actions that extend beyond written procedures when required.
- Apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair radar subsystems, hardware, and operating systems.
- Proficiency in the use of standard diagnostic and test equipment, including digital multimeters (DMMs) and oscilloscopes.
- Identify system performance degradation and provide actionable recommendations to restore functionality, improve reliability, or enhance overall system performance.
