Peraton has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Administrator to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team, developing a next generation satellite terminal on a mission critical Space and Intelligence Program.

Responsibilities of the position:

Server Administration:
  • Manage and maintain Linux and Windows servers, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Perform routine system updates, patch management, and system optimization.
Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce security best practices for Linux systems.
  • Ensure systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
Scripting and Automation:
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
User Support:
  • Provide technical support to end-users, assisting with system-related issues, access requests, and user training.
  • Collaborate with support teams as needed.
Backup and Recovery:
  • Establish and manage backup and disaster recovery procedures for both Linux and Windows systems.
  • Test and document disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years experience. Twelve years of experience required with no degree.
  • US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance and undergo a CI polygraph.
  • Possess or be able to obtain before start date, Security+ certification.
  • Proficiency in Red Hat Linux server administration including configuration of common services such as DNS, NFS, NTP.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, security, and best practices.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat Identity Management (IDM)
  • Familiar with visualization technologies in Red Hat environment.

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
