Overview
LMI is seeking a Supply Planner and Contracting Specialist to support a portfolio of projects tied to asset tracking using passive RFID and GPS. This work is aligned directly to strategic modernization and improvement efforts across the federal government. This position can be worked remotely.
The Supply Planner and Contracting Specialist will play an important role in the efficient supply chain operations of this effort. You will apply your problem-solving and analytical skills to help balance inventory, plan for and execute purchasing, and manage supplier and vendor relationships. Working together with program managers, supply chain planners, and other project staff, you will proactively identify risks to supply that could affect successful project delivery and will develop ways to mitigate those risks. You will participate in the overall supply chain planning process and provide key insights from a supply perspective.

- Analyze data from demand planning, portfolio planning, inventory reports, and other sources
- Conduct supply planning, including the balancing of service levels, inventory, and cost objectives
- Track and help manage current inventories
- Create, submit, and track the status of purchase requisitions
- Collaborate with Contracts to perform purchasing actions and ensure vendor/contract compliance
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, foster strong partnerships, and identify resolutions to potential supply issues
- Assist in the creation of purchase orders and monitor their status from placement to delivery
- Manage the storage of inventory and materials
- Work with the broader team to proactively identify risks to supply and to successful project delivery and to develop mitigations to those risks
- Brief project and LMI leadership on supply plan status, key performance indicators, and issue resolutions
- Participate in the overall supply chain planning process

Required
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with limited oversight and direction.
- Strong quantitative skills including the ability to gather and analyze data to make informed decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external teams and convey complex ideas effectively
- Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0-4 years of experience in supply planning or a related field (inventory management, supply chain analyst, production planning, etc.)
- US citizenship with the ability to acquire a government security clearance.
