Job Description
• Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer (Level III) – Software Solutions
• Full time
• Onsite – San Diego, CA
Accelint is seeking an enthusiastic and talented senior DevOps / platform engineer to build on ongoing modernization efforts for the US Navy with enabling microservices to be rapidly built, tested, fielded, and integrated to container orchestration platforms through heavy use of automation tools and processes. This role is for folks who like being close to the work—building pipelines, automating infrastructure, fixing what slows teams down, and adapting when a program needs something different.
You will help lead a team that is responsible for configuring and maintaining processes that automate software builds and releases. Qualified candidates are expected to have a working knowledge of modern DevOps platforms, tools, and processes including their application to both locally managed deployments and cloud computing platforms, like AWS. Your duties will include software configuration, pipeline development, and software integration with a focus on the integration and delivery phases of software development. Candidates must have strong experience in Kubernetes.
We work in small-to-mid size, diverse teams with clear ownership of tasking. Engineers are trusted in solving problems and aren’t waiting for permission to execute. Additional supervisory duties are expected at this level.
U.S. Navy warfighters need your help to rapidly deliver cutting edge software solutions to the fleet for planning and executing missions for carrier strike groups conducting operations around the world. Mission planners need to collaborate in order plan for anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, ballistic missile defense, autonomous drone swarm information gain, and a wide range of other mission areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines
• Automate infrastructure so environments are predictable and supportable
• Support containerized platforms in secure, regulated environments
• Lead software and cyber engineers to solve delivery problems
• Provide solutions and technical guidance based on program needs, priorities, and technical requirements/constraints
Required Qualifications
• Currently hold an active US security clearance or be able to obtain one
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with:
o Containerization (e.g., Docker, Podman, Buildah)
o Container Orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm)
o CI/CD automation tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, AWS Code Build)
o Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation
o Linux systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
o Automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell)
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field
• Demonstrated experience with
o Cloud computing infrastructure or development (e.g., AWS, Azure)
o Full stack software development (e.g., Java, Python, TypeScript, React, SQL)
o Atlassian suite tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Clearance Requirements
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
