Job Description
• Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Level III) – Software Solutions
• Full time
• Remote, Hybrid, and Onsite options – San Diego, CA
Accelint is seeking an enthusiastic and talented senior software engineer to provide modern software development and sustainment of web applications for the Department of Defense (DoD). Day-to-day efforts include working with highly talented professionals and subject matter experts to advance state of the art of mission-critical U.S. Navy software systems.
U.S. Navy warfighters need your help to rapidly deliver cutting edge software solutions to the fleet for planning and executing missions for carrier strike groups conducting operations around the world. Mission planners need to collaborate in order plan for anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, ballistic missile defense, autonomous drone swarm information gain, and a wide range of other mission areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Break down engineering problems and design software to solve them (e.g., use case analysis, specification authoring, UML-like diagraming, application of design patterns)
• Own and deliver software capability streams from start to finish
• Deliver high quality code with enthusiasm and passion
• Mentor other software engineers (e.g. code reviews, design analyses, professional growth)
• Incrementally improve software development processes
Required Qualifications
• Currently hold an active US security clearance or be able to obtain one
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field
• 7+ years of demonstrated development experience with:
o Object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Python), and/or
o UI development with modern web technologies (e.g., Node.js, React, TypeScript)
• Proficiency in all or some of the following areas:
o Complex data modeling, database design and Data Access Layer (DAL) design patterns
o Asynchronous messaging technologies and design patterns (e.g. WebSockets, Kafka)
o RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) best practices
o Implementing authentication and authorization policies conforming to OpenID Connect (OIDC) / OAuth 2.0
o UI development with modern web technologies (e.g., Node.js, React, TypeScript)
o UI state management (e.g. Redux, Zustand)
o Type-sensitive data models
o Unit testing frameworks
o Standards-based REST API specification design and implementation
o Dependency management principles and tools
o Containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Preferred Qualifications
• Software engineering experience with:
o Java Quarkus 3.x Runtime
o Material UI React Components
o Application Security analysis and vulnerability mitigation (e.g., SonarQube, Coverity, JFrog X-Ray, ZAP, Black Duck Software Risk Manager)
o CI/CD build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Tekton, GitLab)
o Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (e.g. ArcGIS, GeoServer) data management, processing, and rendering
o Apache Maven
o NPM
o Agile Scrum software development practices
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
Clearance Requirements
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
