The work will be performed at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Greenbelt, MD , and will likely be second shift.

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

KBR is seeking a CNC Machinist to support multiple spacecraft missions for KBR's Science and Space Division.
The work will be performed at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Greenbelt, MD , and will likely be second shift.
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for:
- Setting-up, programming, and operation of CNC and conventional machines for end-to-end manufacturing with minimal supervision.
- Communicating and engaging with engineers and designers to collaborate about complex designs and provide fabrication insight to ensure project success.
- Achieving and maintaining proficiency with all applicable quality processes associated with assigned work.
- Monitoring and recording duration of work performed in the ERP system in accordance with business and Quality procedures.
- Performing in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (i.e., I.D and O.D. Micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to verify that customer hardware specifications and tolerances are met.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Exposure CAD/CAM programming software.
- Competency in operating general computer functions such as email, file directories, and other web-based applications.
- 10 years of experience with set-up, programming, and operation of CNC machining equipment.
- Able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Exposure to Multi-Axis machining.
- Exposure MasterCam programming software (2017 and up).
- Proficient computer skills in programs such as; Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
- A current security clearance at the Secret or Top-Secret level.
- Feature CAM
Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.

- On-Site work performed at GSPC Greenbelt, MD location.
