The Work
We are seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to design, develop, and validate submarine sonar hardware and software systems. You will drive the full Systems Engineering "V" - from requirements decomposition through performance verification - supporting Advanced Development CONOPS to system validation. As part of an Agile workforce, you will act as a Product Owner, collaborating with Navy customers, enterprise partners, and multidisciplinary teams to define capabilities, acceptance criteria, and achieve program milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the end to end Systems Engineering effort for sonar HW/SW, covering requirements, interface definition, design, analysis, and test.
• Decompose high level requirements into verifiable lower level specifications.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, interface control documents, and CONOPS artifacts.
• Own product backlog, prioritize work, and act as the liaison between the development team and Navy stakeholders.
• Coordinate continuous integration and verification activities in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban).
• Utilize Agile tools (Jira, Confluence) to track progress, manage documentation, and drive artifacts to closure.
• Mentor and direct individual contributors, ensuring quality and timely delivery of engineering work products.
• Support system validation and performance verification against defined criteria.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of related experience in systems engineering or a related role.
• Must be able to obtain and hold a DoD Secret level clearance
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles and methodologies (full SE lifecycle, requirements management tool suites such as DOORS).
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and changes in deadlines
• Excellent communications skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience with Agile and DevOps practices
• Experience with system modeling, simulation, and requirements analysis tools.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
