The Work
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a Staff DevSecOps (DSO) Engineer to design, develop, and operate a secure, fully-automated infrastructure pipeline. This role will be responsible for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) development. This role will also enforce DoD STIG compliance, manage configuration-management baselines, and drive continual technology refreshes-all while adhering to the highest cybersecurity standards required for mission-critical systems. The selected candidate will work with Software and System Engineers supporting the C2BMC program for the Missile Defense Agency.

Basic Qualifications:
• An Interim Secret Clearance is required for consideration or higher
• Experience with ansible automation - Writing functional playbooks, creating simple roles, and managing static inventories for Windows and Linux hosts.
• Basic Container knowledge - Build and run Docker (or Podman) containers; understand fundamental Kubernetes concepts such as pods and services.
• Experience with scripting - Proficient in at least one language (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to automate routine tasks and interact with web APIs.
• CI/CD & Git fundamentals - Use a CI platform (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions) to trigger builds and run basic tests; clone repositories, create branches, commit changes, and submit pull requests.
Infrastructure-as-Code Tools
• Proficiency with Terraform/Packer for platform-agnostic resource provisioning.
Desired Skills:
• Advanced ansible automation knowledge - Complex playbooks, reusable roles, dynamic inventories, and use of the Ansible Automation Platform.
• Full-Stack container orchestration experience - Building Docker/Podman images and managing workloads on Kubernetes or OpenShift with proper security policies.
• Expert scripting knowledge - High-quality Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripts for sophisticated automation and API integration.
• Comprehensive CI/CD Engineering - Pipelines that include automated security testing, compliance checks, and automated deployments across environments.
• Enterprise-Grade Secret Management - Integration of HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, or AWS Secrets Manager with rotation and fine-grained access controls.
• Automated Compliance & Hardening knowledge - Embedding OpenSCAP/InSpec checks into pipelines to enforce DoD STIG baselines and remediate drift automatically.
• Experience deploying Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK or Splunk; creating dashboards and alerting pipelines for proactive incident response.
• Comfortable troubleshooting complex, multi-layered failures
