Description:We are Lockheed Martin
You will be a Systems Design Engineer for the Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) team. Our team is responsible for supporting the ground systems maintenance of the F-22 aircraft. IMIS hardware/software connects to the aircraft automating numerous processes to improve maintenance performance and reduce management, supervisory, and technical overhead. The F-22 IMIS applications reduce man-hours needed to service, troubleshoot, and repair the F-22 aircraft.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Systems Design Engineer you will be responsible for developing system level requirements for new software capabilities, creating systems engineering artifacts (architecture diagrams, system flows, design documents, etc.), and coordinating development plans with software and test teams. You will lead and employ model based system engineering (MBSE) approaches to develop systems engineering artifacts using SysML and Cameo or similar MBSE tools.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading the redesign of IMIS application
• Performing subsystem level requirements decomposition and traceability
• Leading technical trade studies
• Working with internal and external stakeholders to make sure requirements are testable and verification documentation is available
• Coordinating large scale development projects and setting project milestones
• Collaborate with developers and engineers to implement designs, guide the development process, and ensuring compliance with requirements

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM discipline
• Experience with system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., UML, SysML, Cameo)
• Knowledge of system architecture and design principles
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, C#)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Desired Skills:
• Experience with software design patterns, principles, and architectures (e.g., microservices, monolithic, event-driven)
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., relational, NoSQL, graph)
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
