As the Alternate BUILDER Point of Contact (POC) - Structures, you will serve as the secondary technical and operational representative for all structural construction, maintenance, and repair activities at Al Udeid Air Base. This position supports the primary BUILDER POC by providing continuity of operations, technical oversight, and coordination with base civil engineering, host nation partners, contractors, and military units to ensure mission-critical infrastructure remains safe, compliant, and fully operational.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the alternate structural BUILDER representative for Al Udeid Air Base, assuming full POC duties in the absence of the primary BUILDER POC.
- Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for structural construction, renovation, and repair projects, including concrete, masonry, wood, steel, and prefabricated structures.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and statements of work (SOWs) to ensure compliance with applicable UFCs, DoD standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with Base Civil Engineer (BCE), engineers, inspectors, contractors, and other stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and execute structural work.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and track repairs to completion.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and material estimates to support efficient execution of structural tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with environmental, safety, and force protection standards applicable to deployed and OCONUS locations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records related to structural projects, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Support contingency, emergency, and sustainment operations as required to maintain base infrastructure readiness.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in construction, carpentry, or structural maintenance, preferably in a military, expeditionary, or DoD environment.
- 3+ years' experience with BUILDER Sustainment Management System (SMS) or similar facility asset management systems
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of structural systems, construction methods, and building materials.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with UFCs, OSHA standards, and DoD construction practices (preferred).
- Strong communication and coordination skills in a joint-service and contractor environment.
- Ability to work in a deployed, high-tempo operational environment.
- Prior experience at Al Udeid Air Base or similar overseas installations.
- Experience acting as a POC or project lead for construction or facilities operations.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
- Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Experience operating fuel trucks, hydrant systems, or bulk fuel storage facilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts, extended hours, and in extreme weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Valid driver's license (commercial license preferred, if applicable)
