As an Aircraft Ordnance Systems Mechanic Leader with the Texas Air National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS per statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. Specific requirements are found in the references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables, and your local Military Personnel section.
To determine the required education and certifications for each position's compatible and allowed military skills, refer to the Service specific military classification regulations.

Specialized Experience Required:
To qualify at the WL-11 grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting experience or training planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair, and installation of ordnance systems. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedies where complex relationships exist. Experience in hand tools and the use of a variety of measuring and test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's specifications. In addition to journeyman level knowledge do you have experience demonstrating the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related to the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to guide others in work related directly to this occupational series.
Only experience/education gained by closing date of this position will be considered.

Trial Period:
As a condition of employment, you will be required to serve a 1- 2 trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, we may consider:

As an Aircraft Ordnance Systems Mechanic Leader with the Texas Air National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Provides direction and advice to resolve problems on aircraft ordnance and electronic systems on fighter aircraft. On a regular and recurring basis, leads Aircraft Ordnance Systems Mechanics, WG-6652-11, in diagnosing malfunctions, troubleshooting, and evaluating electronic system tests to determine the disassembly necessary for repair or replacement of parts.
- Monitors work of assigned personnel, sets the work pace, conveys work assignments, and ensures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available. Coordinates and works with weapon system mechanics and specialists performing journey level work.
- Ensures assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities. Checks work in progress and/or upon completion for compliance with supervisor's instructions, appropriate technical orders, etc. Serves as a technical advisor by answering questions regarding appropriate procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Assures that all safety, housekeeping, security, and other environmental rules and procedures are followed in the shop and the flight line.
- Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g., additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees). As requested by the supervisor, provides functional planning for the flight line maintenance activities. On a daily basis, recommends adjustments in work schedules to provide optimum utilization of personnel in support of functional requirements.
- Routinely works with and alongside journey-level counterparts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
