Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Advanced Electrical Engineer position that just opened in Bloomington, MN. In this role, you will participate in all phases of electrical hardware development, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, and design reviews. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Position: Advanced Electrical Engineer
Contract: 12 months or longer
Pay: $61.27/hour
Shift: 1 st shift, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
CLEARANCE: N/A

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in all phases of electrical hardware development, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, and design reviews
  • Define PCB/PWB routing constraints and provide technical direction for layout and routing activities
  • Support hardware manufacturing, system integration, test, and qualification activities
  • Perform design validation and troubleshooting using advanced lab equipment
  • Interface with internal stakeholders and external customers to ensure program requirements and expectations are met

Required Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience; Master's degree with 3 years of experience acceptable
  • Proven experience in electrical hardware design, schematic capture, and design reviews
  • Expertise in PCB/PWB routing constraints and technical direction for layout and routing
  • Ability to support hardware manufacturing, system integration, testing, and qualification activities
  • Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing advanced lab equipment (oscilloscopes, Ethernet network testers)
  • U.S. citizenship due to work in secure facilities

Nice to Have Skills
  • Electrical hardware design using Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition suite
  • High-speed and high-density circuit card design, including embedded processors and FPGAs
  • Experience designing hardware with fiber-optic interfaces
  • Knowledge of advanced circuit card materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces
  • Familiarity with HyperLynx Signal Integrity and Power Integrity analysis

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in defense or aerospace hardware development
  • Demonstrated experience supporting full hardware lifecycle projects within DoD or aerospace environments

Other Requirements
  • On-site work at our Bloomington, Minnesota facility
  • Ability to independently solve complex design challenges with minimal direction
  • Strong communication skills to present technical concepts and influence design decisions
  • Flexibility for optional work arrangements such as 9/80 schedules
  • Commitment to security protocols and confidentiality
