This role will support the agency in developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies that amplify mission objectives and foster meaningful audience connections. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with strong analytical capabilities, adept at balancing strategic planning with tactical execution in a fast-paced government environment.

Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with customer objectives and organizational goals
- Design and execute targeted social media campaigns utilizing platform-specific strategies for maximum impact and reach
- Research and recommend emerging tools, platforms, and best practices to continuously enhance digital presence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with broader communication strategies and Department of Defense guidelines
Content Development & Management:
- Create, capture, curate, and publish timely, engaging content that maintains consistent brand messaging across all digital channels
- Develop compelling articles for internal and external audiences supporting traditional communication efforts
- Provide photography services for senior leaders, events, and organizational activities as required
- Manage daily social media publishing schedules ensuring optimal timing and frequency
Community Engagement & Monitoring:
- Monitor social media trends, conversations, and emerging topics relevant to agency mission areas
- Respond to audience interactions promptly and professionally, fostering community engagement and dialogue
- Proactively identify and capitalize on opportunities for real-time engagement
- Maintain awareness of competitive landscape and industry best practices
Analytics & Reporting:
- Conduct in-depth analytics to track key performance indicators including engagement, reach, sentiment, and conversion metrics
- Analyze engagement metrics and provide data-driven insights to optimize content performance
- Provide regular reports with strategic recommendations for continuous improvement
- Translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders
Relationship Building & Collaboration:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer principals and staff to identify content opportunities
- Collaborate with leadership to maximize publicity through integrated digital and traditional media approaches
- Serve as subject matter expert and advisor on social media best practices and emerging trends
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or related communications role
- 3+ years of experience developing and executing social media strategies for organizations or brands
- Demonstrated experience working in government, military, or highly regulated environments
- Portfolio demonstrating successful social media campaigns and content creation
Security Requirement:
- Must have a final Secret Security Clearance
- United States Citizenship required
