In this role, you will:
- Own the schedule: Build and manage project timelines to keep deployments on track.
- Drive success: Ensure requirements are met and maintain clear documentation.
- Lead coordination: Partner with stakeholders for site surveys, installations, training, and logistics.
- Solve challenges: Identify risks early, troubleshoot issues, and keep projects moving forward.
- Engineer excellence: Apply best practices and contribute to system design and documentation.
- Inspire teams: Provide oversight, mentor staff, and support hiring and development.
- Other duties may be assigned, this position usually reports to a Program Manager.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 7-10 years of working experience as a Project Manager with experience in technical or deployment environment/Defense Contractor.
- High School Diploma/GED, associate degree is preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and timelines.
- Financial Management Experience: Support program financials by contributing to budget planning, tracking expenditures for modernization activities, and ensuring contract‑compliant, audit‑ready documentation across all deployment and sustainment efforts.
- This role requires up to 50% travel, remote telework opportunities will be based on customer requirements and the ability to provide onsite support for a minimum of 3 days per week, each week. Onsite days in Virginia Beach, Virginia office may increase to provide onsite support up to 5 days per week to support the needs of the customer. Exact days in office and at the customer site must be coordinated with customer and approved by your Serco manager.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to be upgraded to a Top Secret DOW security clearance with SCI Eligibility which requires U.S. Citizenship and a successful background check to include fingerprint checks and drug screenings.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience with Next Gen 911 (NG911), Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Land Mobile Radio (LMR), or similar emergency communication systems.
- Familiarity with network integration and Unified Network/Common Transport Layer concepts.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, including design reviews and solution documentation.
- Background in risk management, troubleshooting hardware/software deployments, and quality control processes.
- Experience with technical team leadership, including mentoring and performance management.
- Certified Internet Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent professional networking certification.
