HX5 is currently seeking a System Administrator (Storage Focused) support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

HX5 is currently seeking a System Administrator (Storage Focused) support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, patch, and sustain Linux and Windows based physical and virtual machines in a hybrid, high-performance computing (HPC) environment.
- Administer and maintain enterprise-level storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell ECS) and backup systems such as Commvault.
- Manage and administer virtualization environments, primarily using VMware.
- Conduct daily system monitoring, system backups, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations.
- Support network, system, and cybersecurity engineers to provide high-quality engineering services to the Government customer.
- Manage system software installations, break/fix activities, and cybersecurity mitigations in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Manage and maintain task assignments by updating task tracking software with work notes, blockers, status, etc.
- Manage user accounts and access to systems and equipment.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a strong innovator in process improvement and system design.
- Be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult software problems and provide resolution.
- Effectively function as self-starter and identify risks, issues, and opportunities to the team lead.

Education and Experience:
- Must have 2 years of directly related experience in relevant business systems, operating systems, and servers.
- Must possess a strong understanding of system administration concepts.
- Must have, or obtain within 6 months of start date, a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE Certification or higher.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Salary Range: This position is expected to pay $90,000 - $120,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
Other Position Requirements:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain the required level clearance by date of hire.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
