Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Specialty Engineering Manager 3 to oversee the Human Systems Integration (HSI) team within the SET Specialty Engineering directorate. This position may be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.

The Sentinel Specialty Engineering Sr. Manager is responsible for specific technical tasking as delegated by the Director of Specialty Engineering in the Specialty fields of HSI and Human Factors.
The HSI Sr. Manager will provide personnel support to the HSI Team and will have responsibility for quality and technical execution of engineers. This role works closely with program leadership, technical leaders, business management, and the engineering homeroom. This position requires experience in systems engineering technical work and knowledge, and experience with leading technical teams over a broad range of tasks including design, implementation, test, verification, reporting and scheduling. The successful candidate must have the ability to lead teams in a fluid environment that requires teamwork with our Customer, NGC teams and suppliers to meet program objectives. A high degree of skill in critical decision making is imperative to perform in this environment. A working knowledge of ground-based deterrence systems is desirable.
The Specialty Sr. Manager responsibilities include:
• Managing the day-to-day program execution of the HSI Specialty Engineering Team
• Providing EVM responsibilities (CAM or Work Package Lead (WPL)) as delegated by the Director of Specialty Engineering or CAM
• The qualified candidate will have experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Human Factors Engineering, System Safety Engineering, Nuclear Hardness, PM&P or Electromagnetic Environmental Effects.
• Communicate effectively and report status and progress metrics to support Program Management reviews and customer engagements.
• Provide senior management to oversee program execution for HSI sub-teams to include human factors engineering for software and hardware human machine interfaces for operators, maintainers, security forces and support personnel; user experience (UX) teams involved with SW user interfaces; and perform systems integration that takes into consideration all HSI domains including Manpower, Personnel, Training, Human Factors Engineering, Safety and Occupational Health, Force Protection and Survivability and Habitability
• Develop and support consistent execution of standard practices, best practices, methods, software and tools across programs. Implement lessons learned, standard practices, best practices, and continuous improvement plans.
• Manage and forecast engineering resources in collaboration with the Specialty Directorate and technical leaders. Work with program leadership and technical leads in establishing business objectives and performance goals for the team.
• Partner with the engineering functional homeroom for staffing and recruiting needs to meet the required skillsets to execute program scope of work
• Oversee the HSI team schedule and planning in support of system design reviews, materials development, recommendations, and document tracking.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related experience, or a master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $276,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
