Northrop Grumman's Space Sector invites you to bring your pioneering spirit to our inclusive team. As a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.

You will be based onsite at our Linthicum, MD facility. This is not a telecommuting position. No relocation assistance will be provided.

The Global Supply Chain Finance position will work in coordination with other Supply Chain Planners to track program material costs, accurately forecast material receipts, and create Current Material Estimates (CME).

In this job, you will be:
  • Responsible for creating a material baseline and working with Business Management to meet monthly Earned Value requirements including monthly performance, ETC spreads, variance explanations, and identifying and implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Responsible for working with other planners, engineers, and program representatives to forecast material costs
  • Responsible for understanding material cost variances and determining root causes and corrective actions for the variances


This role will support programs in the Surveillance & Targeting (S&T) portfolio in the Space Sector. This position requires a basic understanding of Supply Chain including reading purchase orders, the processes related to buying and receiving material, target pricing, and MRP.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years (Masters with 3 years) of relevant experience in supply chain, finance, budgeting, accounting or subcontracts. Or in lieu of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience in supply chain, finance, budgeting, accounting or subcontracts.
  • Proficient in Earned Value measurement techniques
  • Advanced Excel skills are required


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Material Cost Account Visibility (MCAV)


Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
