Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Instrumentation Electrical Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test & Evaluation organization. This role will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
In this role you will be responsible for electrical designs associated with Flight Test electronic equipment, and integration onto test vehicles. These design activities will be associated with any of the following - cable interface assemblies, data acquisition hardware, and a variety of sensors design to measure stress, thermal, vibration, and linear/ rotational displacement.
Note: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Executing the electrical design life cycle from concept to system integration for flight test instrumentation hardware.
- Facilitating cross IPT / discipline collaboration in the development of flight test instrumentation designs.
- Procuring hardware in support of electrical designs.
- Serving as the point of contact with vendors, manufacturers, and technician teams in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of flight test instrumentation equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline with 2 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in STEM with 0 years of experience.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret prior to starting, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business.
- Must have experience generating technical documents and working with various programming languages such as MATLAB, SQL, and/or Python.
- Must have experience in electrical systems design tools such as CAD, Siemens NX, AutoCAD electrical, VISIO, and/or CATIA).
- Must have basic knowledge of electrical components, power design, and/or considerations.

- Experience with systems integration of components in a laboratory environment.
