Northrop Grumman is seeking a Propulsion Engineer T4 (Project Engineer) to join our Propulsion Systems team. This position will be primarily located at our located in Magna UT, with secondary support for other facilities located in Clearfield and Promontory, UT.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position involves all aspects of production, sustainment, and modernization of solid rocket motors. This Project Engineer position works within a team alongside government and weapon system prime customers to ensure production capability and operational readiness of the product. The position may also involve the support and analysis of component level tests, motor static tests, and missile flight tests; the evaluation and planning of methods of approach to integrate new products, technologies, or materials into existing systems; to investigate hardware / test anomalies, determine root cause, and provide recommendations to the customer.
Job Duties:
This requisition may be filled at a higher level (T5 Staff) with additional responsibilities for a qualified candidate.

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Job Duties:
- Lead a cross-functional team as Project Engineer for technical support of solid propulsion manufacturing, aging, sustainment, and design modernization
- Develop program execution plans, manage execution of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to meet program objectives
- Coordinate with both internal NG and external USG customers
- Supports production and test operations
- Development of test plans and coordination of testing with test engineers
- Identification of risks/mitigations and tracking to closure
- Coordinate and conducting milestone reviews
- Lead problem and failure investigations
- Write technical reports, present internally and externally
- Coordination of engineering efforts across multiple design, analysis, production, and test groups as well as teams consisting of multiple disciplines

Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering required
- 8 Years with BS; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
- Ability to travel: Travel expectation of 10-20%
- US Citizenship - required
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in design, manufacture, and testing of solid rocket motors or demonstrate equivalent knowledge from related products
- Knowledge of statistical process control and reliability engineering
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, and ability to deal with ambiguity
- Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information at all organizational levels both internal and with Government customers
- Ability to see how a complex system works (big picture) while working on individual component details and interactions to identify effects in data and determine cause within the hardware
- Demonstrated team leadership skills - leader of significant technical projects or investigations and management of multiple program tasks
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining focused results within reliability, quality, schedule, and budget requirements / constraints
- Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner
