Vantor has an immediate opening for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team supporting a user base with a mission to solve unique and challenging problems in support of national security. We are seeking an engineer who embraces technology and thrives on the art of the possible. The ideal candidate will lead a small multi-disciplinary software team and have the unique opportunity to interact directly with users and other technologists to ensure solutions, development and tools meet the needs of the customer.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the SAFe Product Owner by owning and prioritizing the team backlog, translating operational needs into user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and accepting completed work aligned to program objectives.
• Create discovery and automation tools to enable geospatial and intelligence analysis of complex problems utilizing an array of data types and sources.
• Lead the development of enabling software solutions using a variety of scripting languages that address real world user requirements; writes and debugs custom code and creates user documentation.
• Monitor and understand high level operational geospatial processes.
• Communicate with multidisciplinary teams and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or GIS with 15+ years of technical experience in developing custom software solutions performing data extraction, manipulation, and visualization.
• Proficiency Java, Python, R, JavaScript, and/or databases.
• Capable of leading and working effectively with a geographically distributed operations and development team.
• Effective communicator with customers and team in written and oral forums.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with data concepts including visualization, management, integration, databases, and user interface design.
• Strong Linux proficiency and experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures (e.g., AWS, C2S, OpenStack).
• Experience with big data and distributed technologies such as Kubernetes, Spark, Hive, Hadoop, Accumulo, and ElasticSearch.
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow tools including Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow, and Kafka.
• Experience with GIS data and geospatial analysis tools.
• Adaptable, solution-oriented mindset with experience in DevSecOps, open-source tools in government environments, and the ability to lead in fast-paced settings; military/intelligence analysis or IC PED system experience is a plus.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and for all other states is:

$185,000.00 - $205,000.00
